About the Techpaddle

The techpaddle was invented out of necessity. There is not a training aide on the market that effectively helps swimmers get an efficient Early Vertical Forearm position or (EVF) until now.

As a coach working in San Antonio and with the past president of the American Swimming Coaches Association, George Block, our staff worked extremely hard on trying to improve our swimmer’s stroke efficiency. Great breaststrokers, backstrokers, butterflyers, and freestylers, all have a great feel for the water.

I remember attending workshop after workshop, looking for devices or gimmicks, as Coach Bob Steele called them, that would get swimmers to focus on and improve their catch. After years of trial and error, the forearm paddle we now call the techpaddle was born and patented in the summer of 2004.

Blueprint of techpaddle EVF (registered trademark)

By using the techpaddle with slow and deliberate motions, muscle memory begins to form habits that allow swimmers to maintain that EVF throughout each and every swim. Once you’ve tried them and you find that you get positive results, you won’t ever use another hand paddle. The first innovation to develop the most elusive and important propulsive skill in swimming can be yours today.

I want to make sure that everyone who swims has the correct Early Vertical Forearm from their set of techpaddles. With your techpaddles swimming faster by training smarter is now your motto.
